King Douglas I – Renaissance Inspired Photoshoot

“Every subject’s duty is the king’s, but every subject’s soul is his own”

King Henry V

In 2024 I made a dear friend a mighty cloak fit for a King; King Douglas, in fact! Inspired by King Henry VIII and his famous portrait, I made a faux fur lined cloak of red velvet, paired with a velvet cap and gold embroidered trim, and a raven feather for embellishment. The sword is borrowed from a fellow Knight enthusiast and metal cloak fasteners from an old belt. The images are taken and edited to resemble oil paintings, with AI helping on some background scenes to create that fairytale image. This year he will be ready for our local Renaissance Faire this July 26/27 in Edson, Alberta. If you see him be sure to shout ‘Huzzah!” to the King.
